North India Nepal Tour

DESTINATIONS: - DELHI, JAIPUR, AGRA, KHAJURAHO, VARANASI, KATHMANDU
DURATION: - 10 NIGHTS/ 11 DAYS

DAY 01 : ARRIVAL DELHI
Assistance on arrival at the Delhi International airport followed by transfer to the hotel. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 02 : DELHI
During breakfast, tour briefing by India Insight staff followed by full day city tour of Old and New Delhi. In addition to its Historic interest and role as the Government center, Delhi is a major travel gateway. It is one of India’s busiest entrance points for overseas airlines, the hub of the North Indian travel network and a stop on the overland route across Asia. Places to visit are  Red Fort (Closed On Monday),  Raj Ghat, Jama Masjid,  Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb,  India Gate,  Drive past the Government building lining the Jan Path. After having full day city tour, return back to hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 03 : DELHI / JAIPUR
DISTANCE: 265 KMS. DRIVING TIME: 06 HRS 15 MINS
After breakfast check out from hotel & commence drive to Jaipur. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel.  Evening is spent in exploring the local markets of Jaipur city. After having visits to the local markets, return back to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 04 : JAIPUR 
Jaipur the capital of Rajasthan still looks cradled and well protected. Jaipur takes its name from maharaja jai Singh, who in the early 1700s became the king of amber at the age of 13. He soon added architect and astronomy to his credentials. He designed the bulk of his new capital, with its exquisite buildings of rose colored terra cotta, thus giving it the name of "the pink city" with pink and orange the dominant colors, the effect is magic at dusk. After breakfast,  visit to Amber fort. Enjoy an elephant ride while going up the fort. After Amber visit, half day city tour of Jaipur. Places of visit include:  City Palace,  Jantar Mantar,  Hawa Mahal (From out side only). Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 05 : JAIPUR / FATEHPUR SIKRI / AGRA 
JAIPUR / FATEHPUR SIKRI DISTANCE: 205 KMS DRIVING TIME 04 HRS 40 MINS
FATEHPUR SIKRI / AGRA DISTANCE: 36 KMS DRIVING TIME: 55 MINS
After breakfast check out from & commence drive to Agra via Fatehpur Sikri.  En route visit Fatehpur Sikri, "the Ghost City” which lies west of Agra. From here continue drive to Agra a further 36 kms from here. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. After quick wash & change have a half day city tour of Agra, places to visit includes
• The red fort
• The Itmad-ul-daulah
After having half day city tour, return back to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 06 : AGRA / JHANSI (TRAIN) / KHAJURAHO
JHANSI / ORCHHA: DISTANCE: - 16 KMS. DRIVING TIME: - 30 MINUTES
ORCHHA / KHAJURAHO: DISTANCE: - 178 KMS. DRIVING TIME: - 03½ HRS
Agra is famous as being home to one of the Seven Wonders of the world- the Taj Mahal. Agra was once the capital of the Mughal Empire and even today it seems to linger in the past. Not surprising, for the Mughal emperors with their passion for building, endowed the city with some of the finest structures in the world. It is very easy to slip away here through the centuries into the grandeur and intrigues of the Mughal court.  Early morning visit to “The Monument of Love – Taj Mahal” (TAJ MAHAL REMAINS CLOSED ON EVERY FRIDAY). After having visit to the monument, return back to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast check out from hotel & you will be provided in time assisted departure transfer to the railway station for train to Jhansi. On arrival in Jhansi you will be provided in time assistance at the railway station followed by the drive to Khajuraho. Enroute visit of Orchha. The medieval township of Orchha has hardly been touched by the hand of time. Lying 120 Kms from Gwalior on the road of Khajuraho, Orchha is famous for its palace & temples, built in the 17th and 18th centuries. Visit:  The Chaturbhuj,  Janaki,  Laxmi,  Raja Ram Mandir etc. After having visits continue drive to Khajuraho. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 07 : KHAJURAHO / VARANASI (FLIGHT)
After breakfast check out from hotel followed by half day temple tour of Khajuraho, places to visit includes  Eastern group of Temples. After having half day temple tour you will be provided in time assisted departure transfer to the airport for flight for Varanasi. On arrival in Varanasi you will be provided in time assistance at the airport followed by transfer to the hotel. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. After quick wash & change have a half day city tour of Varanasi, places to visit includes  The Dasashwamedh Ghat (main Ghat),  Kashi Vishwanath temple,  Gyanvapi Mosque (Alamgiri Mosque),  Evening AARTI tour with boat ride on river Ganges. Later Old City and Evening AARTI Tour -One can drive to the old city by Car and Take a late afternoon walk in the Old City, walking through the famous narrow lanes and view the Golden Temple from outside & proceed to the Burning Ghat and take a Boat to view the sunset Aarti Puja from the Ganges River itself from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. After having visits, return back to the hotel by walking through the old city which is now lighted up board then take a rickshaw back to the Taxi stand and return back to hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 08 : VARANASI / KATHMANDU (CHECK OUT AT 1200 HRS)
Early morning Boat ride on the river Ganges. After having early morning boat ride, return back to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast check out from hotel & you will be provided in time assisted departure transfer to the airport for flight for Kathmandu. On arrival in Kathmandu, you will be provided in time assistance at the airport followed by transfer to the hotel. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 09 : KATHMANDU
After breakfast have a city tour, places to visit includes
• Pashupatinath - This is the place where holy Sadhus pray and cremations on the Bagmati River are carried out. While you are not allowed into the temple if you are not a Hindu, the grounds surrounding the temple usually have a fascinating crowd of the faithful. We then continue to the holiest shrine for the Buddhist culture in Nepal.
• Bouddhanath - with its large stupa, this is the place where all devout Buddhists come for a pilgrimage.  It is not unusual to see very old devotees circumnavigate the shrine hundreds of times falling to their knees and rising again for a few steps only to go back down again to their knees. 
• Bhaktapur – It is perhaps the least changed of all the cities in the Kathmandu Valley, with a distinct medieval feel.  Pottery and weaving are still traditional industries here. Architectural wonders abound, including the Palace of Fifty Five Windows, Golden Gate and the magnificent five-storied pagoda-style Nyatapola Temple. 
After having visits, return back to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 10 : KATHMANDU
After breakfast have a tour of Kathmandu, places to visit includes 
• Katmandu’s Durbar Square – It is one of three durbar (royal palace) squares in the Kathmandu Valley. It is the site of the Hanuman Dhoka Palace Complex, which was the royal Nepalese residence until the 19th century.
• Kumari Chowk - This gilded cage contains the Raj Kumari, a young girl chosen through an ancient and mystical selection process to become the human incarnation of the Hindu mother goddess, Durga. She is worshipped during religious festivals and makes public appearances at other times for a fee paid to her guards. 
• Swayambhunath the golden spire of the 5th-century Swayambhunath stupa is adorned with a colorful fluttering of prayer flags; it crowns a hill overlooking the Kathmandu Valley and offers fantastic views over the city of Kathmandu. Swayambhunath is one of the most recognizable symbols in Nepal and the painted eyes of Buddha watch all who ascend the worn stone steps. 
• Patan - Also known as Lalitpur. Lalitpur is fragmented from other cities due to its substantive architectural ancient masterpieces. Patan's central Durbar Square is absolutely packed with temples.
After having visits, return back to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel. 

DAY 11 : KATHMANDU / DELHI (FLIGHT) 
After breakfast check out from hotel & you will be provided in time assisted departure transfer to the airport for flight for Delhi. On arrival in Delhi you will be provided in time assistance at the airport followed by assisted departure transfer to the International airport for flight for onwards journey.
